Marko's Interviews

This is the first of (hopefully) many interviews of the members of IE, interviewed by our very own loud-mouthed and self-assured Markoman.

(The ugly face to the right is Markoman, not Goza)

His first victim is Goza, one of the assistant guild leaders of Iron Edge and self-proclaimed cross-dresser.

Greetings everyone, I would like to present to you one of the core guild members of Iron Edge, the DKP master, and a great warlock, Goza.

Marko: Do you have anything else to add to my lovely announcement?
Goza: Well, you forgot Queen of Silvermoon, but that's no biggy.

Read on...

M: Can you tell us something about yourself?
G: My real name is Marcus. In real life, I'm a 34 year old software developer from northern Germany. After work, I switch over to Goza.

M: How and when did you start playing WoW?
G: I did play the US open beta of WoW, but I actually forgot when that was. Is it 3 years ago now? Then of course I played on US since the US release day. WoW was my first MMO. I was lucky to get into a small social guild on US, but the time difference didn’t allow me to partake in their 40 man raids as those started around 2am my time, so, I switched over to the EU realms around, hmm... 2 years ago? As I was aware that choosing the right server is quite an important choice, I browsed the WoW realm forums, doing that I noticed Kaos's realm post, contacted him and we had some e-mail talk, that way I ended up choosing Dunemaul and being invited to IE as a level 10ish or 20ish.

M: Does "Goza" means anything as a word or it's just a regular name?
G: My US warlock was called Zuul. That name however was already taken on EU Dunemaul, so Goza was my 2nd choice. I also had a 60 paladin Goza on US, but didn’t play him much. Goza is actually a misspelling of "Gozer". Gozer and Zuul are both characters from the Ghostbusters movie series. The movies were fun, the names sound interesting and are short, so I thought it was a good choice.

M: Why did you choose orc warlock?
G: Well, on beta I played a... *cough* night elf druid, then my first real char was Goza the paladin. Playing the paladin was too frustrating though as it would take ages to kill mobs, so I made a warlock. There was one level in Warcarft3 where some kind of fel orcs made an appearance, that was one of my favorite maps. So: horde, orc, some evil caste: Goza the Warlock.

M: How does it make you feel when people are whining all the time about warlocks being overpowered?
G: Some have valid arguments, but most of the time I only read rather silly complains from classes that should have no problem defeating a warlock. So often it's /giggle. But anyway I'm not a big PvP player.

M: Do you play any alts?
G: None at all. Thou all my character slots on Dunemaul are filled, they are all just trade and bank mules.

M: Will you be switching your main character for an alt in the next expansion?
G: No, I don't plan to do so. I'm still very content with the warlock class. And seeing the only new class option will be Deathknight, which is a class role I'm not very interested in, I assume I'll stay a warlock for longer. I will probably do the required DK chain and try it, but only out of curiosity.

M: Why did you proclaim yourself as "Goza the Seamstress"?
G: IIRC that name originates from my tendency to get every silly tailoring pattern available. Pink shirts, festival dresses and the like! It's also fun to don an orc warlock in those valentine dresses. Sexy...

M: Tell me about your "passion" for dresses in WoW.
G: Goza giggles. Well, I enjoy doing silly things. When Blizzard started putting those dresses in the game, the first thing I thought was: I must have one. Orc warlocks look especially silly wearing those. Also, there's not much to customize your char in WoW, so a male orc warlock wearing inappropriate clothing is getting some attention. It somehow evolved from that. I also started hunting for pets/companions. Or trinkets like the rose petal offhand. In addition: it's satisfying joining on IE BG group and hunting down alliance wearing [Festive Pink Dress]! Lately I dropped Skinning and picked up Engineering for that 2.3 flying machine. That should tell you how weird I am...

M: Were you really going to apply for the "Blizzard Costume Contest"?
G: Blizzard Costume What? Uh, did I say so sometime? Hehe, nah, my passion for flashy outfits is quite limited to Goza.

M: One time you said "I sometimes play WoW wearing a pink tutu and singing loudly to Pet Shop Boys while wiggling my head left and right". Is that true?!
G: Gosh, you log conversation, don't you! One and a half statements from those sentence are right. Guess which ones!

M: Is it true that you have some meat-eating plants?
G: Indeed! They refuse to die.

M: Can you tell us something more about those plants?
G: Well, I got my first one as a birthday present from my nieces. One of those venus fly traps. I had some in the past but they kept dying. This one however grew bigger and bigger and bigger... So, for my next birthday, I got 3 different kinds on carnivores. Which also grew bigger and bigger and bigger. So now I got Nephentes, Sarracenia and Drosea. It's a bit spooky. My friends are sometimes wondering whether I do blood sacrifices.
They are all right next to my monitor btw. Nothing beats raiding while your plants are devouring live animals. Takes the pain out of wipes.

M: Did you ever try to put your finger close to it and see if it bites?
G: My nieces like to do that, and I always go mad when I catch them, as it weakens the plant. (Oh I'm such a bore!) I feed them flies I catch around the house using a tweezer. Thats way more fun that putting your finger in! ... I did mention I'm a bit weird, right...

M: Are you thinking about making new WoW brand, like "Made by Goza" shirts?
G: There was guild called "Goza T-Shirt Club" on Dunemaul. I'm still wondering if that was some guildie pulling my leg. Sadly, they disbanded. And what were Blizzard thinking by not adding one single new t-shirt to TBC. Goza cries.

M: Thanks for this wonderful interview Goza.
G: You’re welcome.

So if you want to be cool and have a "Made by Goza" shirt, we will be handing out 10 of those shirts to the first 10 people who leave their comments on this blog (include you in-game name so we can mail it to you).
